Paging Mr Blatche
Time to Shine for # 7
The time has come for Andray Blatche to show all the haters what he is all about. With the unfortunate shoulder injury to old reliable, Antawn Jamison, Blatche is going to be counted on in a starting role to show what he can do. It is time for him to take all that potential and turn it in to productivity. Andray will have the rest of preseason to play in the starting position, and should have plenty of opportunity to produce.
Many fans and bloggers have been hard on Andray for his lack of consistency, and his lack of motivation. I believe that all the criticism is a result of over expectations. Blatche is still one of the youngest players on the team, and his minutes have never really been consistent, which helps lead to his inconsistent play. With the number change from 32 to 7, Andray has promised new focus and new motivation on the court. We have already seen a focus from Blatche on the court during the preseason games. In his 1 start during the preseason, he produced 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Other big games this preseason include games of 13 points and 8 rebounds, 17 points and 9 rebounds, and 13 points 10 rebounds. (Left out the game where he only played 14 minutes). Now is the time to take the number change, the new focus, the new motivation, and put it all to the test. We can’t expect Jamison like numbers of 20 and 8.5. But what we need out of Andray is consistency, hustle, and to show that he belongs in the heavy rotation. All the lackluster, inconsistent play is a thing of the past. Now show all the haters what you are about. Now is your time to shine #7.
