A December To Forget So Far in DC

Washington Wizards/Redskins/Capitals = Record of 2 Wins 16 Losses

 

 

When does it change?

It is only December 16th, it's basically damn near half way through the month of December and DC sports is disapointing. The Washington Wizards, the Washington Redskins, and the Washington Capitals are having a horrible time trying to win a game in the month of December. I thought this was the holy month? Jeez, this is sickening.

With that said, DC sports teams are 2-16 so far this month. The only wins came as the Wizards pulled a home win against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Caps beating the St Luis Blues on the 1st of December. I hope that 2-16 changes soon because the Wizards are winless on the road still. The Washington Redskins play in Dallas against the Cowgirls. The Capitals have lost 7 in a row. The Caps are by far, the best team of all four major teams. They have the best chance of winning a championship, no argument about that.

So what is going on? Why is this happening? Maybe it's a curse?  Possibly, think about it, we have the Redskins who have a name that is disrespect the American Indians. Does that affect the rest of DC sports?  Who knows what kind of curse they put on the organization/franchise or city. The Redskins have a horrible owner in Dan Snyder.  Personally, I don't know the guy but I bet my house and future wives that he is nowhere near the owner as Ted Leonsis is.  Dan Snyder may be one cool dude but I wouldn't know, so I couldn't tell you.

It's been so bad; who knew it was Dallas week? I was more excited about Friday because it was my friend's dinner but other than that It never crossed my mind that it was Dallas week.  Yeah, it's that bad folks.

The Capitals have one of the best General Managers in the NHL and have clearly, the best NHL player today, Alexender Ovechkin.  I actually think they will bounce back and when it comes down to playoffs, they will turn it on.  There track record shows that they don't do well in the playoffs, but things have to change for the better sooner or later.  By no mean, am I an expert nor do I know hockey as well as say, Jasper Rink or even Joe G of WizardsExtreme but I sure as hell am depressed watching and hearing about it.

Speaking of winners, I hate you Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, and New England Patriots.  Maybe because I envy your crappy town because in the words of DJ Khalid would say, "all we do is win, win, win, no matter what...."

The Wizards have John Wall, the new face of the franchise.  He has missed 11 games out of the possible 24 games so far.  That is more than what John Stockton has missed his entire career, as coach Flip Saunders pointed that out last week.  Is it really the shoes? Is it a curse? Is it something with the Wizards training staff? Who knows, it just has to stop really soon because DC Sports is going to hell in a hand basket.

They say that it all starts from the top.  Ted Leonsis is the man up top and he just started taking over this team.  This is year #1 for Ted.  Time will only tell if he can make these Wizards end up like the Caps (except the 7 game losing streak and all). 

It feels like that saying, "kicking a man while he's down." 

Mmm yeah....

That's exactly how it feels right now in Washington.  Things will change, just have to stay positive and not jump ships (here's looking at you Cowboy Fans in Washington who have the dreaded disease; N.B.D - Never Been To Dallas).
