Goodman League: Entertaining Games

If you have never been to a Goodman League game this year.  Well I don't know what you are waiting for.  I haven't had this much fun since a Wizards win.  The experience you get at a Barry Farms game is an experience on it's own.  I recommend it to everyone and anybody.  The MC of the event, Miles Rawls, who runs it, is probably the most wittiest individual I've encountered who is not a comedian.  

He started the event to give us a shout out (myself, Joe G, and Matt Naqvi) and called us 'The Soppranos' and on top of that, called me Grease.  I couldn't stop laughing and loving the fact that the area showed us nothing but love.  Any misconception you have of Southeast DC or Barry Farms in general should be wiped off in your head.  

On to the games.

There were two games and the main event was a rematch of last years championship game.  You think this is just street ball? Nope, they actually have refs who call it like it is.  Every move is called from traveling to 3 seconds in the paint.  

Kevin Durant told me it was the first time he has touched a ball in a week.  I laughed and thought he was joking because he was on twitter earlier this week talking about how he wanted to rest from playing.  I have gone two months from basketball and thought that wasn't enough.  But with that said, everyone and their mothers expected Kevin to put on a show.  He did not disappoint as he scored 26 in the first half.  In the 2nd half, he did not score as much but only because for some odd reason, he did not get the ball much with 4 minutes to go.  Apparently being a two time scoring champion didn't mean much in the closing minutes.  

Other then that, Kevin's team, the Shooters lost to the Roc Boys in a close match up, 99-94.

KD finished with 41 points.
