Game Preview
The Wizards host the Cavs tonight in a unique matchup. With the injury of rookie point guard Kyrie Irving, Cleveland has been recently relying on Lester Hudson to get the job done -- and he has not been disappointing them. Prior to last night's game, he was averaging 23.3 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists over the last 4 games. Alonzo Gee has also been logging heavy minutes for the Cavs.
The reason the matchup is so unique?
Both players were once D-League call-ups by Washington and now they will play against the Wizards, each playing a larger role with their new team than they did in DC.
It would be fitting for this current season if two ex-Wizards came into Verizon Center and took over.
Here is hoping Washington at least puts up a fight (but maybe not too much of a fight as they are still in a tight race with Cleveland for 2nd worst record in the East).
