John Wall Takes on High Schooler's Challenge

John Wall has been making some noise recently on the YouTube circuit courtesy of The NOC channel as you can see in video below titled “John Wall Shuts Up High School Kid”:

The title is a little deceiving, because the high school kid – which happens to be a top recruit, Tyrek Coger – actually does deserve some credit for scoring on John Wall and stopping him on defense a few times. The game was started at the Reebok Breakout Challenge following a little friendly trash talk between the two players, and included quite a few uncontested jumpers.

You can tell the two were playing for fun, but also that they were playing for respect.

The defense throughout was questionable, if not non-existent. After some missed shots and sloppy dribbling, John Wall ended the game (with a little help from a look-at-the-cameraman move) by driving past Coger and throwing down one of his signature left handed jams.

Wall was able to maintain the respect of the kids, but I am willing to bet he also now respects Tyrek for challenging him and then backing up his talk with his play.
