The Jeremy Lin Show Comes to DC

Written by Asad Naqvi on .

Come Wednesday, there will be a matchup that nobody would expect to be filled with hype.  Let me start off by saying that John Wall’s hardest challenge is coming in the form of a Harvard grad in Jeremy Lin.

Over the last two games, Jeremy Lin has made a statement in the NBA and has been the tentative solution to the New York Knicks' point guard issues.  Baron Davis who was initially crowned as the savior for the Knicks at the 1 position has been out with an injury.

Jeremy Lin, a 6`3 point guard has sparked the Knicks with his up-temp style of basketball.  He’s making great moves and confusing defenders with his sneaky quickness.

One person who is really familiar with Lin is Washington’s own John Wall.  Some of you may remember, Jeremy Lin first made his name against Wall when they faced each other during the Las Vegas Summer League in 2011 (rookie years for both players).

Check out this PRO Jeremy Lin video.  Regardless, it does show highlights of what he was doing to Wall.

I was there to witness the crowd turn from Wall fans into Jeremy Lin fans.

Expect Wall to be aggressive agains Lin, similar to the tough defense he imposed on Raptors point guard Jose Calderone, when he held him to only 4 points and 3 assists.  After the game, John Wall told Comcast SportsNet's Chris Miller that he took it personal the fact that Calderon had his number the last time the Raptors and Wizards met.

This time around, I hope he takes it more than just personal.  A hot Jeremy Lin comes to Washington and will make his 2nd straight start in his young NBA career.  Lin started last night for the very first time and scored a career high 28 points.  Hopefully history does not repeat itself.
