Wizards Player of the Game

This is a tough one because no player played particularly well but I’m giving Co-Players of the Game to Jordan Crawford and Kevin Seraphin who both continued their inspired play of late. Crawford had another 20 point game, his fifth in a row and Seraphin put in 15 points and 11 rebounds.

WE’s to Watch/WE Spotlight

John Wall – Wall had a somewhat pedestrian game finishing with 12 points and 9 assists. He struggled from the field going 5-17 although he did a good job leading the fast break. It seemed as if he missed Nene’s presence in the post or maybe he was just sluggish coming off of two heart breaking losses in three days. Wall never seemed to be in to the game.

Rajan Rondo – Rondo’s stat line resembled Wall’s. He finished with only 4 points but added a game high 11 assists.  I still marvel every time I watch Rondo at how he dominates the game without scoring and this game was no different. Rondo got his teammates involved early and often.

The Good

Even after getting down early in the game The Wiz Kid never gave up and were able to overcome a disastrous first quarter and make the game competitive.  They actually outscored the Celtics for the rest of the game. If only a game was three quarters the Wiz would've be in great shape.

The Bad

The Wizards field goal percentage. The team struggled mightily from the field shooting 34% for the game. Jan Vesely and Roger Mason Jr. were the only Wizards to shoot over 50 percent in the game, going 5-6 and 2-3 respectively.

The Ugly

The first quarter was as ugly as it gets in the NBA. The Wizards made two field goals in the period and were outscored by the Celtics 27-12. They were never able to rebound from the early deficit.
