 Wizards Player of the Game

Another strong effort and a very solid first half, especially from newly acquired center Nene, who finished with a team-high 21 points and 11 rebounds. After just three games, Nene's presence has already made a big impact, as he has now attained double-doubles in two of his three games with the Wizards.

WE’s to Watch/WE Spotlight

We chose Chris Singleton and Joe Johnson as our spotlight players, and Singleton, I believe didn’t contribute too much to last nights game. Singleton had a total of 9 points and 1 assist. On the other hand, Joe Johnson scored nine of his 16 points in the last period, including a go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute, and the Hawks beat the Wizards 95-92 for their third consecutive victory.

The Good

Nene and Jordan Crawford to a 16-point third-quarter lead, the Wizards neglected the Brazilian big man in the final minutes and watched Crawford keep shooting until he cooled off down the stretch. The Wizards finished the 3rd quarter with a 10 point lead.

The Bad

Crawford had 20 points, but missed all three of his field goal attempts in the fourth quarter, when the Wizards scored just 14 points.

The Ugly

Washington’s next possession ended with Crawford dribbling off plenty of valuable seconds before missing a jumper with 24.9 seconds left. Atlanta guard Kirk Hinrich grabbed the rebound and eventually Johnson went to the line and made both shots for a three-point lead. Johnson’s 3 with just under 47 seconds to go made it 93-92, Atlanta’s first lead since the first quarter. The Hawks beat the Wizards for their third consecutive victory.
