MYSTICS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Matee Ajavon: After missing the first game due to injury. Matee completely dominated the Shock from start to finish. She finished with a game high 19 points and added 4 rebounds and 3 assists as well.
WE’s TO WATCH/WE SPOTLIGHT
I had the spotlight on the play of Matee Ajavon for the Mystics and Temeka Johnson for the Shock. Johnson came into this game averaging 18.5 ppg in the Shock previous two games. She struggled to get it going against the Mystics. She finished with only 9 points on 3-9 shooting. As previously stated Matee had an inspiring performance.
THE GOOD
The play of the "Big Three" Ajavon, Monique Currie, and Crystal Langhorne. All three ladies finished in double figures and Langhorne added 10 rebounds for good measure.
THE BAD
The way the Mystics let the Shock back into the game. The Mystics had a 16 point third quarter led and barely survived a furious comback. A last second shot that would’ve tied the game for Tulsacame after the buzzer and was waved off.
THE UGLY
It has to be the 28 turnovers. This was an area that hurt the Mystics in their first game and almost came back to bite them in this game. In the postgame press conference Coach Lacey called them “Silly Turnovers”
