From what I've heard Jerry West wants to retire... so Kobe might be fighting a losing battle here..

Kobe isn't going to be traded..I think this is just his way of telling the lakers that he wants them to get better players.

Arenas for Kobe.
You'd do it. Yes, you would.

Hell No I would not trade Gilbert for Kobe.....I don't like Kobe and I was the happiest person in the world when Gil torched them in LA this year.

I wouldn't either. I'm not convinced that Kobe is a winner (his championships were heavily-Shaq influenced.) I just don't see him making those around him better. Then he gets in his little moods numerous times a year, including playoff games, and won't shoot the ball, just to make a point. I could go on but basically dudes a douche and I heart Agent Zero.

So if Kobe doesn't make anyone better what does Arenas do? He's said on record many times "Don't call me a leader. I'm not one." He said that a ton of times during interviews with Dave Johnson this year. I know. I covered almost every game. :)

Did anyone catch his interview on Dan Patricks show today? He sounded like he wanted to cry and he backtracked during the interview as well. He at first said he would not care where he was sent, he just wanted to play ball. Later on he stated that he would stay if the right people showed up again in the front office including Phil Jackson.
To me it sounds like he is just pissed off. I am not 100% sure the Lakers will trade him and if they did he has a chance to come to Washington :)

The last thing the Wizards need is another ball hog. Sorry but the only way he could be traded to Washington would be for Gilbert Arenas and that's just crazy talk. Kobe is four years older than Gil and they're basically the same player.
And we don't even know if Gil has hit his ceiling yet or not... keep that in mind.

Yea he makes his team better. He is not the leader on the team that is Antawn's job. But he does make our team better not just putting up points. He is a way better fit on this squad then Kobe ever would be. Plus alot cooler/funnier and actually cares alot about his fans.
ps. Kobe supposedly just changed his mind again and withdrew his trade request

I'm sorry but i've never seen a fan base so blinded like this. You wouldn't trade for THE BEST PLAYER IN THE GAME??????????????????
Quit telling me Antwan is the ****ing leader. Gilbert has gone on record many times saying "I don't want to be a leader" For god sakes I heard it a hundred times this year. I had to sit through it. He hates being called a leader and doesn't want to be one.

Kobe knows he has that franchise in a head lock. He is the Lakers. He can whine and bitch all he wants to and at the end of the day they are going to kiss his feet. Hey kobe... you are taking up half of the cap.. maybe thats why yall are stuck in neutral.

I would not trade Arenas for Bryant. Bryant has alot of wear and tear and is approaching 30. Arenas is just scratching his potential and has made a name for himself here. When you think of Arenas you think of the Wizards and how he made a name for himself here. If Kobe came here he would still always be viewed as a Laker. Sometimes you just have to stay loyal to the people who come up in your own backyard.
