Jim Zorn was named the Redskin's Head Coach after an exhausting roller coaster search.

Jim Zorn was the QB coach for the Seahawks hired initially to replace Al Saunders as the Redskin's Offensive Coordinator. Danny boy was being "fickle" again.

Your thoughts?

One word: disaster.

And not necessarily because of Zorn himself. The whole process has been a disaster.

I'll wait and see how it plays out. I'm really indifferent at this point. I mean I'm just glad it wasn't Fassel. But I do agree that this process was ridiculous.

Yeah i dont really know much about the guy when compared to the other candidates. But he's worked under Holmgren for sometime which tells me he's pretty competent offensively. The question is.. who's going to be the OC? Will we even have one?

How can you say disaster without even seeing what the Skins are going to do in the draft and in free agency??

I understand the head coaching search was definitely ridiculous, but considering how we are keeping all of the assistants that Gregg Williams had here (and the fact that none of them are going with him to Jacksonville....which seems a little odd to me), I think our defense will be as good as it was last year.

The big question in my mind is how Campbell will respond to this hire.

All in all though I am going to reserve judgement until the season actually starts.

We've become a second-rate organization. The whole process was very Raiders/Lions-esque.

Yet we make the playoffs every few years, while those franchises don't. Trust me, I find this whole process as ridiculous as the next Skins fan....but I just don't understand all the doomsayers.....we haven't even gone through the draft or free agency yet.

Would you all really be optimistic for next season just because we hired Gregg Williams instead of Zorn?? Or if we hired Zorn a few weeks ago?

I for one would be ecstatic if GW was hired to lead the Redskins. I honestly thought he deserved it not because of his loyalty, but because he showed great leadership especially when ST passed away, all the players respect and play for him, and the fact that he has a top 5 defense almost every year. But what is done is done.

I'm not optimistic about Zorn TBH. I have no clue what this man can and cannot do so that worries a lot of people. But it's not even about the Head Coach but the way Dan and Cerrato handled the whole situation.

He kept the players & organization in the dark while playing circus with the media. I dont think that is how the most valuable team in sports history should conduct themselves. Not to mention the little GW dirt rumor about Gibbs that leaked out.

But that's just me...

just listened to the press conference and so far I like what I see, the guy is all about the game and gets excited talking about it. I can respect that and hope he can produce this year.

If we can get into the 2nd round this year I will be impressed with Zorn

I expect serious roster turnover/cap issues and a season of no better than 5-11 - for which, Zorn will be made to be the whipping boy. Bad times!

As a season ticket holder of both the Skins (since birth) and Jaguars (since 98), all I can say is...Hail to the Jaguars!

Way to ride the band wagon.......

And I guarantee that we won't be any worse than 6-10.

Last I checked the Raiders were in the Super Bowl not too long ago. Three playoff trips in 15 fricking years is pretty second-rate if you ask me.

And yes, I would be a lot more optimistic if the second-in-command to TWO of those three playoff teams was the leader instead of the fricking slipe and slide QB coach from the Seahwaks.
