im pulling for Morris Almond until draft day....we need someone who can just hit the shots and help out with points when the 3 headed monster are tired or off.....

and yes, we need a post player who can score, because Ruffin/Haywood/Thomas arent exactly starting material who could help in the post! our interior needs someone! but WHO???

Make mine Jason Smith!

The position is the greatest need, and he seems to have a very nice upside.

He already has a nice midrange jumper, and shoots 77% from the FT line.

If he could develop into a 10/10 player he would be all we need.

I think Jason Smith has a ton of talent and would be a great fit in the wizards system. However, I'm not sold on him as a center and I can't see us taking a power forward (we're pretty stacked jamison, songaila, blatche, and pecherov) unless someone like jamison is traded or blatche is not resigned.

I think we will try to find a low post player either in free agency or through a trade. In the draft I see us either packaging the pick along with haywood in a trade, or drafting the best available 2/3. Hopefully that will be Nick Young but I'm pretty certain now that he'll be gone at 13.

well to be a center in the east, u dont have to be center-like....u just gotta rebound, box out and hit the jumpers...sounds like Illgauskes right?

Personally I'd look for Almond or Byars. The bigmen that will be around when the Wizards pick seem to be the kind of players they aren't looking for (Big, tenacious rebounders/defenders) . The bigmen left when they pick will most likely be Smith, McRoberts, or Splitter, and I don't think any of them will solve the bigmen woes.
