looks like hes workin hard with Andray Blatche!

On his game:
“If you want to be a great player you have to be good in all parts of the game. I try to work hard on all of them; rebounding, shooting, and defense. I like rebounding a lot that is what I try to do in the game. I like to score as well.”

WOW...u know the team will love him...

*edit* also here is the article on Pech in this mornings(Tuesday, June 19th) Washington Post

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/18/AR2007061801464.html

Wizards president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld and Coach Eddie Jordan are optimistic about Pecherov's potential. He moved smoothly around the court yesterday, showing excellent ball-handling skills for a player his size and a soft shooting touch. Though more comfortable facing the basket, Pecherov said he worked hard on his post skills while playing for BC Kiev during the team's recently completed season.

gotta love that fact he likes being under the board to grab rebounds. If he measures up to his words then I can only imagine the wonders he could create with offense and defensive boards

Nice.

We need a new, active body in the paint. Hopefully he is that guy for us.

I like that Pecherov and Blatche get along so well. Hopefully it's a sign of good things to come.

Have heard nothing but good things when reading about Pesh. I would love to see him and Blatche out on the court getting solid minutes this year and contributing. Can't wait for the Las Vegas Summer Tourney, July 10th.

I agree. Blatche is the most exciting prospect player we've got, in my opinion. I could easily see him becoming a beast on the court. And if Pesh develops right along with him, even better.

yea Blatche is my boy I can't wait for him to get time, he is gonna be a dominant force....I went to the game against Minnesota and he was playin really good D on KG, they even asked KG after the game about the kid and he sounded kinda mad and was saying he hasnt proved anything and all that ( sounded like he was upset a second year kid was d ing him up like that.)

and when they finally put him in against the cavs this playoff series he was lockin LeBron down and causing him to take terrible shots

Blatche 2007/2008 doing big thangs

you suck

From Dan Steinberg's blog:
And then there's Oleksiy Pecherov, last year's first-round pick, who's been living downtown and working out at the arena with director of player development Harvey Grant. Like, constantly.

"Five hours a day," Grant told me. "Every day. Seven days a week. Some days we have to tell him, 'Hey man, just take one day off. Give us a break."

"All day," Pecherov agreed, explaining that he doesn't know anyone in D.C. and that "we have everything here, it's nice to be here."

Although he disapproves of the American-style pool table in the player's lounge. He plays Russian billiards. Something about a larger table, and smaller pockets, and larger balls. "It's too easy," he said of the player's lounge table. "That's more interesting."

And he's been reading books. Right now, he's exploring something by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho, some sort of motivational text about believing in yourself and working hard and reaching your goals. He also likes reading crime books, and "some stories about famous people, how they reached their goals." I suggested that many young men in America don't like to read books.

"I heard about this," Pecherov said. "They say, 'Why I need to read?' In Europe, everybody reads. Of course some young guys now, they've got the computers, video games, but anyway when you're in school they give you some limits how many you need to read."

I'm liking what I hear about Pecherov. He sounds like a gym rat like Gilbert and that's great.

If he turns out to be the gym rat Gil is we might be one step closer than we thought we were, now if that could rub off on Drey we would be two steps closer...
