I actually was a die hard O's fan for years, made a few trips up there for games and the whole bit but I have to agree, Angelos is simply a dummy. That team is all sorts of screwed up and its a shame because they have some pretty decent bats on that team.

Angelos is too blind to smell his own poop so its not going to chnage anytime soon. Ill even go as far as saying that Angelos will keep this team below their potential for another decade if he remains owner.

And just for the record, growing up, Cal Ripken was my absolute idol. I worshiped the dude, and yes I'll admit it, I had tears in my eyes on the night he broke the record. I collected all his cards and a vividly remember him when the Home Run Derby and then the MVP that one year. I was a huge O's fan. I loved Camden Yards.

Then I had a huge raging mancrush on Jeffrey Hammonds for some unknown reason. There was such huge talk about him when they took him in the draft out of Stanford, like he was going to be the next Willie Mays or something. Hell I think my final maybe four years of playing baseball I wore number 11 in honor of him. It's a lock I got some Jeffrey Hammonds rookie cards laying around here somewhere.

And then, even today, I would probably punch Jeffrey Maier in the face if I ever got the chance. I despised that kid. I think he might be the first person I ever wanted to murder.

Angelos is the one who ended all that. First I couldn't stand how he hated on MY hometown area's bid to get their own team. And he hated on it FOR YEARS! He said we weren't real baseball fans anyway. And then, even after we finally got out team, he still wants to play little obstructionist bitch with the tv and all that. **** that dude seriously. I could go on and on on this subject but I'm going to stop for now. One last thing, it started off hating Angelos, then it started off wanting the O's to fail because of Angelos, but now the fans have begun to annoy me.

I'm just going to leave the fans alone though. When we're playing in the NLCS in five years and the O's have just finished their 15th straight losing season I'm just going to smile in their faces. Then I'm gonna pat the chair next to me and let them know that I saved them a spot on the bandwagon.

Personally I believe in only being a fan of 1 team per league..But thats just me, and when I go to the Orioles games in DC, I see some people with O's hat and a nationals jersey, or a nationals hat and Orioles jersey.

Ok let's look at the current state of the O's...

The owner is a straight bastard who bought the team and promised everyone he would spend money to win a championship and has done completely the opposite since then. He's just raking money in and sitting on it.

The signing of Miguel Tejada was a great move at the time it was made, but Angelos only did it so he would draw fans to the park and he had no intention of trying to build a formidable team around him which is obvious today. It's sad to see Tejada got tricked into wasting the rest of his prime away in such a ****ty situation.

Now the O's have an open managerial job that no one in thier right mind will accept (Joe Girardi) because the owner will not put them in a position to succeed and then can them a year or two down the road making them a scapegoat and tarnishing thier careers...

So where do the Orioles go from here? I honestly don't know. The simple answer is Angelos either needs to change his philosophy or sell the team, but honestly what are the odds of that happening any time soon?

Well I figured I would put it in the most appropriate thread. And honestly it's not an attack against you. It's just how I view the situation over there.

I don't hate the O's or thier fans, to be quite honest I was an O's fan before the Nats came along, but I'm a homer 'till the end so as soon as the Nats came to DC I jumped on board.

The only thing I don't like about the O's is the owner. He truly is a liar and a money grubbing bastard and that's not the right kind of person to be owning a pro sports team. Unfortunately you can't choose who your owner is.

When Roberts gets on base it causes the pitcher to pitch differently.. you never know when he's gonna steal.

This is 1st thread I have had to enter to ask everyone to play niceley! Please dont attack each other but feel free to attack each others teams.

The Staff here is not exempt from the rules and they are aware of that, I love you all and this community is something special and I want to keep it that way. Please for the love of Spock keep it civil.

These teams dont pay our bills, nor have any of the players from teams we like shown their faces here so with that said dont take anything to heart.

I know many of you know each other and things are not as serious as they appear but for the sake of the commuinity at large please be mindful.


for the record, my thoughts are the O's are in the Angelos Blackhole and the Nats are gonna be rebuilding for a while until they get consistant pitchers and a few heavy bats

Remember you all, we're like the pioneer users on this site. We're not just representing ourselves but the website as a whole. Admin and Agent0 have done an amazing job here and have absolutely blessed us with a place to come talk and chill. Thankfully they've allowed it to be light and not boring like another one, I won't mention names, so let's give them the respect they deserve. I'm guilty in this as well, but as a mod I realize that I need to start being more mature about things. Keep the personal attacks out and keep great discussions instead.
