Oh boy looks like we have some action. The article says sources say Grunfeld is going to keep Blatche, which means there is a much better chance that they are not going to resign DeShawn Stevenson. Also in there are talks about trying to trade Etan Thomas and Antonio Daniels.

---if DS leaves I wouldnt mind keeping AD and moving him to point then letting Gil play the 2. Who knows.

yeah i saw that in the paper this morning and then read Ivan Carter's blog where he had more info about it and just updated a clarification on blatche's contract. apparently his contract wont count against the mid-level exception.

Update on Blatche

In today's paper and in last night's blog I wrote about the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Jersey Nets planning on making runs at signing Wiz free agent forward Andray Blatche. That's correct but there is one thing I have to clarify from my reporting. Because Blatche is an "early bird" free agent, the Wizards can sign him outright or match any offer made to him without dipping into their mid-level exception (a first-year salary starting at around $5 million). Oddly enough, the rule is known as the "Arenas rule" because Golden State was unable to match Washington's offer to him in the summer of 2003 because they could not go above and beyond the ML.

So, the Wiz could sign Blatche or match an offer made to him AND still have their ML free to sign other players (DeShawn Stevenson for instance). My bad on that.

Very Nice. I think Ernie believes that Andray is an essential piece to the team and I wouldn't plan on him going anywhere.

Yeah you can kiss Jarvis goodbye... Ernie will keep Blatche at any cost, so I'm not worried about this.
