Braves are struggling and are due to win a series. I didn't steal that thought from GACOLB*

Belliard with the leadoff double to start the third. That ball just ate up the leftfielder.

Nevermind. Belliard stranded at second.

That was one of the first round picks. Taken 31st overall, Josh Smoker, LHP, out of high school. The pick was compensation for Soriano leaving.

Name: Josh Smoker
Height/Weight: 6-2 / 190
Date of Birth: 11/26/88
School: Calhoun (GA)
Brewerfan.net Rank: 24

Smoker is a polished lefty that has performed very well at showcase and tournament events while playing for the esteemed East Cobb program for the past two to three years. In particular, he was named the all-tournament pitcher at the past two WWBA World Championships in Jupiter, Florida. While he is at his best carving up hitters by changing speeds and hitting his spots, his fastball has been clocked as high as 94 mph, even though he works more comfortably in the 88-91 range. He also mixes in a pretty good curveball and a developing changeup that gives him a promising three-pitch repertoire. His track record is more than proven, and scouts have had ample opportunities to see him at his best with and against some of the best players in the nation, including the Aflac All-American Classic. He has committed to play for Clemson.

Damn, Braves score. 1-0 Atlanta.

So 1 run for the Braves in their last 5 games, and then they drop 4 in the first 6 innings tonight. I guess they were due. Good call on that nice "original" thought Sicksers.

The Nats are so hot and cold. We got absolutely smoked in three games by the Tigers and then we turn around and when the next series against a really good Indians team. And now tonight we're getting blanked by the Braves.

Sicksers
06-25-2007, 09:51 PM
Nats are playing above what everyone thought they should play at. Thats a good thing. They have a serious shot to stay in the general vicinity of .500 on the year. Which would be amazing considering the predictions at the beginning of the season.

Nats score. 4-1 Braves.

As a fan though....at least we have some honest owners...they don't beat around the bush with us...we knew coming in what we had and that this year we were not going to be world beaters.

Id sure as hell rather be in our situation moving in next year to Adrian Fenty Park with a roster of some free agents and kids getting a chance to play everyday right now.

Much better than having Angelos run our team!

Adrian Fenty Park? Hahaha.

But yeah I agree with you. I think the team, the owner, is definitely going about this the right way. The complete opposite of what we're doing it what the O's do. And look how that has worked out for them. Ha.

I just want to finish with a better record then the O's this year. That will give me some **** talking material for at least a year.

Sicksers
06-25-2007, 10:02 PM
There's a real possibility the Nationals finish with a better record than the O's. The Orioles play in a much tougher division and league right now. The NL is **** compared to the AL.

Did anybody really believe the Braves would go scoreless the rest of the year? Lets be real folks, its baseball. The only reason the O's didn't lose tonight is cuz they didnt play.

Tomorrow is a road game for you guys anyways...New York is coming to town, they usually fill up 39k out of the 42 Camden holds right?

Who said the braves would go scoreless the rest of the season? Thats foolish to think that..But they havent scored a combined 4 runs in probably the last week..We'll see how many the braves score on the expos tomorrow.

Im sure there will be tons of yankees fans at Oriole park tomorrow..Sadly.

No not really. The O's are an established franchise. We're basically an expansion team. As the O's are the closest team to the Nats of course they're going to be used to measure the success of our up and coming team.

Actually there record is that good because they beat up on chumps like the Orioles all year long. At least we give the Mets a run for their money. Trust me you guys wouldn't be doing any better if you weren't in that division.

By the way the Mets are 9 games over, so if your gonna get Boston's record right for argument sake, get the Mets right too.

No, we have the yankees in our division too if you didn't remember..And we're 1-4 against the redsox this season, so its not like they're "beating" us up..You guys have the mets(good team), phillies(average team), marlins(not to good), and then the expos(not very good)

And for the record im not even sure if I got the redsox record right, I was just guessing they were 20 games over.

Boston - great team
Blue Jays - worse record than Phili so...um..... ill give you average/below average
Yanks - below average - have you not watched Sports Center or read a sports page all year...this ain't your daddy's Yankees
Devil Rays - ok they are just not good
Baltimore - the trash of the division

Your record is 1 1/2 games better than ours... YEah, thats alot to talk **** about. Give me a break man. Your argument lacks creativity. You are 1-4 against Boston and you think that is not beating you? ok, lets see how the other 14 games go and then we'll come back and revisit that argument.

What im saying about Boston is they've only played is 5 games..And you love to bring up payrolls, did you know that Toronto, and of course the yankees along with the redsox have bigger payrolls than us?
