Other DC sports?

I know its very early in the game (no pun intended) but what are your thoughts on including other DC sports teams as sub forums here? I dont want to compete with the "other" forums but I feel there might be enough interest to create a Redskins section, Capitals and Nat's section. I can also implement the live score update pages for each sport as well to bring a higher level of interactivity i.e nba, nfl, nhl, mlb etc

Yeah that would be good. I think with baseball being the only thing going on right now and football starting before the next NBA season it will give us something to discuss and kill the time with. I'd also recommend an NCAA section for the Maryland/GTown/GW/GMU/Etc fans.

ah didn't think about the college angle. I would like to hear other opinions before I start adding more sections. I like your suggestions though, lets see what others say before we commit.

Agree with GOACOLB, Don't think hockey would be a big hit but Nat's and def. Skins would.

You know I was just thinking about this and maybe it would be better to just have like an NFL section, a MLB section, and a NCAA section then to have specific team sections. That way it could be just general sports talk and we could still talk about the Skins or the Nats or whatever but it would also be a place for people who aren't fans of those teams to also come in and post.

And yeah I don't know about hockey. Don't know too many people who follow it. Maybe an Other Sports section and that would take care of hockey and soccer and whatnot.

This seems to be the best idea yet...I only follow the Wiz and Skins and what new jersey the Nats are wearing.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat... I think having a section for each different sports and inside we can discuss basically the respective stuff.. I mean we all know we'll end up just talking about the 'skins anyways ;).

I pretty much agree with everyone else's sentiments. Having other local sports teams to talk about besides the Wiz will provide some good talk and debate throughout the forums

Honestly, I think the best would be to just have a Wizards section (i.e, News, General, Other Teams, etc) and then a whole general 'other section' (i.e, dc sports, politics, etc). I mean the whole reason why you started this was so it could be a dedicated Wizards forum and adding a bunch of sub forums would just clutter it up and go away from the primary reason you started this board (which is super cool. Already 40 members and it's only a few days old:wink: )

well, I removed the MLB section and moved the NFL to the clubhouse for now. If the NFL keeps semi busy it can stay otherwise ill nuke it.

its hard to gauge things becuase we are in between seasons for the wiz and the skins so I wont kill it yet until we have more regular traffic

its funny that you mention that, I removed the MLB since it had no posts in it. If you are interested and know people that will post there regularly pm me and Ill set you up as the MLB mod if you can make that area active
