Wizards To Participate in 2007 NBA Summer League

Summer League Games Set to Be Broadcast Locally in Primetime
June 28, 2007

The National Basketball Association recently released the team participants and schedule for the 2007 NBA Summer League presented by adidas, the league’s summer showcase in Las Vegas for top free agents and members of the 2007 NBA Draft class.
“The Las Vegas Summer League is an important part of the development and maturation of our younger players," said Grunfeld. "We are excited to see our younger players have an opportunity to play in a very competitive environment. This will mark our third consecutive summer participating in the Las Vegas Summer League, and we look forward to joining the 21 other teams for an exciting two weeks of basketball."
Additionally, for the first time ever, Comcast SportsNet will broadcast all five of the Wizards’ summer league contests in primetime.
“As a long-standing partner of the Washington Wizards, Comcast SportsNet is delighted to add this original game programming to its lineup, featuring one of the most exciting teams in the NBA,” said Rebecca Schulte, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. “These five games will give our viewers the first look at many of the Wizards top prospects, including the team’s most recent draft picks. As the region’s leader in local sports television, we are always looking for new ways to bring sports fans unique perspectives on their favorite teams and players.”

Here's the team's first practice from today:

I like what I heard and saw from Young, Pecherov and McGuire. It's good to know EJ thinks highly of McGuire. He seems like he might be another second round gem by EG. Also, Nick Young seems like another good character added to this team. That was a funny comment he made about that former Wizard player who wore #5.

Great vid. Loved to see all the young guys impressing EJ.

And the Kwame humor was awesome.

the wiz really have to chill out on the local players. Mike Hall and J.R. Pinnock were both pretty good college players, but both of them have shown nothing when it comes to playing in the NBA. Pinnock played in the D-League last year and Hall was on and off of the inactive list for the wiz. Also, Lee Humphrey should make the team and become the wizards version of steve kerr.

If you look at the roster, and the way the NBA does things, Pinnock and Hall have just as good if not better chance of cracking this roster than Humphrey, for the simple fact of what you said, they have been to the NBDL or have NBA experience. You are talking about an undrafted FA who played college ball last year coming in and being the next Steve Kerr? JCN has a better chance of being that guy than Humphrey ever will. Don't get me wrong im not downing the guy, but no thank you, id rather Kyle Visser of one of the 7 footers on our summer squad make this team.
