"Clippers" Fans Got a Blast From the Past in D.C.

In 2008, if I told you that there would be bandwagon Clipper fans invading the Verizon Center to spend top dollar on lower level seats to watch the Clippers plays the Wizards, well, forget what you would've thought, I probably would've Godzilla facepalm'd the crap out of my forehead.

Believe it or not, it's true. The Clippers have become the greatest road show in sports. High flying dunks, fast paced basketball and Blake Griffin flops that rival Greg Louganis. This is what the fans pay to see. Oh, by the way, the Wizards won the game 98-90. Just in case Clipper fans were curious.

Well, with no Chris Paul in the line up and Blake Griffin a very late scratch due to a hamstring injury, Clipper fans got a taste of what life was like before 2010 (assuming they were actually Clippers fan in 2010).

[ Living Wizardly ] - Garrett Temple and Brad Beal Get Their Fat-Boy On In Memphis

Written by ABDULLAH SHARIF on .

The generation of social media we live in today has bridged many connections between fans and the rest of the sports world, granting in-depth access to their favorite teams and athletes with a simple click of a button. The type of access our daddys would have only dreamed of attaining. So this year, WE are proud to offer Wizards fans a segment that will reveal the week’s top three Wizards-related tweets, Facebook statuses, Instagram uploads, perhaps an AIM away message even. Whether it’s posted by a Wizard or about a Wizard, we’ll be sure to find it, and expose it. Abdullah Sharif (@abdu11ah) continues our weekly tradition with his own findings and posts..

The Wizards are in Memphis to face the Grizzlies tonight and they’ve been pretty occupied since they landed in town yesterday…

Bradley Beal wasted little time in looking for some solid southern grub....

Perhaps he should've just tagged along with Garrett Temple, who was already stuffing his face.

…Meanwhile, Chris Singleton is working on that summer body... or… working on getting more than just 3 minutes of playing time.

Jordan Crawford Crushes a Handful of Skittles During Game

Written by ABDULLAH SHARIF on .

As reported on SBNation.com- last night in Philly, Jordan Crawford was noticed walking back onto the court following a timeout stuffing his face with what seemed to be a handful of Tropical Skittles (based on my fat-boy observation of the light aqua colored bag).

And who can be mad at the guy? Lord knows you put a bag of Skittles in front of me regardless of where I am and I’m crushing at least a handful of them on site—just the way Jordan did.

But in any case, this could very well have been an attempt by Crawford to gain a bit of a sugar boost early in the game. Unfortunately, it seemed to have given him a sugar crash instead, as depicted by his final stat sheet: three points in just 17 minutes.

The man widely known as “Steez” is often headlined not only for his volume production on the hardwood, but he’s usually a hit in the dressing room as well, sporting all types of garments and accessories ranging from fancy patriotic neck scarves to gold-framed Aviator shades.

Keep doin’ what you do, Jordan. WE got nothin’ but love for ya.

Your Old School Bullets, Now Available on iTunes

Written by JAMAL SMITH on .

(Dick Raphael/ Getty Images)

In case you hadn’t heard already, iTunes recently made available for download games from the NBA Hardwood Classics series, as well as prior year playoff and all-star games.  What’s even better is the low, low price: entire volumes for under $20 or single games for only $1.99.

Bullets fans can enjoy a 1973 match-up with the Knicks that took place at none other than the Cole Field House on the campus of the University of Maryland.  The game was the second of a back-to-back with the Knicks and the (then Baltimore) Bullets had won convincingly in the opener, 97-75.
